My stupid house

by statia on December 15, 2009

I call my kitchen the stupid kitchen, because, well, it’s just designed poorly. I have a sliding glass door where my table goes, which in and of itself, isn’t so stupid, because it’s common to see a sliding glass door in your eating space, but it’s a tight squeeze and on the other side is the door to my laundry room, further making the space feel like you’re being squeezed into a can.

The view out of my sliding glass door is of the farm. Right next to the farm is a busy road. Here, allow me to show you the view with my wonderful artistic abilities:

My kitchen is on the first floor, but because we have a walkout basement, presents itself as being on the second floor.  We have a two story deck, and the kitchen overlooks the farm and the busy street.  During the summer, it’s not so bad, because there are tons of trees that block the view of the cars.   During the winter, there are no leaves, obviously, thus you see all the cars.

Why am I telling you this?  Well my laundry room is right off of the kitchen,  and is rather small, and now that it’s winter?  I can no longer get dressed in my kitchen until the spring.

And that just annoys me.

Better yet, who cares who sees you?

You should dance for the cars.

I don’t want to cause accidents. People would see the “skin flap” and wrap their car around a tree. Clearly, then it would be a contest of who got the better show.
