I’ll take things that make my colon seize for $500, Alex.

For the love of fucking Christ.   Embryos are not implanted in the uterus, they are transferred.

Who is making your colon seize by being so stupid? Is it that damn octuplet thing again?

Dotty January 31, 2009 at 10:02 pm

I’m just laughing about your colon seizing. You have such a way with words. :)

They are implanted, though. Clearly. Totally implanted if you already have 6 children, live with your mother, and have no job or spouse. Then, well, those embryos are put directly into the uterus, do not pass go, do not collect $200.

For the rest of us, they’re transferred.

That woman is the sort of person who gives ivf a bad name and the media the opportunity to F up implant vs. transfer. Infuriating!

Hey – wait a minute I watched Private Practice last week and the RE on there said they implant embryos so it must be right.

Notice how Octouplet Mom’s RE isn’t jumping up to identify himself? Hmmmm.

I was wondering where you’ve been?

It doesn’t help that several fertility doctors themselves are saying “implanted”. It’s hard to expect the media and those outside the process to know it’s incorrect when they hear the docs say it.

I yell, “transferred, you idiot” at the radio or TV at least twice a day.

I am a IVF virgin but happen to read many of IVF blogs… is the correct process for the embryos to be transferred then implant themselves… which would make sense seeing that the embryo after being fertilized in the fallopian tube implants itself in the uterus…

I had to correct my hubby on this point about 3x last night as we discussed crazy lady and her litter o’ kids.
