No rest for the weary

by statia on May 10, 2008

Last year at this time, it was kind of surreal, that whole Mother’s Day thing. It was kind of hard to enjoy, given the fact that we were up to our neck in boxes and packing, and a screaming 9 week old. That’s not to say I didn’t enjoy it, because even despite all that, it was still a special day. I felt like I was a part of something. Something big. I am a part of something big. And this year, it’s still surreal.

It’s surreal to look at this kid, and think that he’s mine. He has no idea that it’s Mother’s Day. To him it’s just another day. And largely, it’s just another day to me too. Because no matter how hard the days are, every single day is a reward. He is one truly awesome kid.

And really, there’s not much more I can say than that.

Happy Mother’s Day! It is a wonder, isn’t it?

Then it’s a good Mother’s Day. Just wait until he’s fully old enough to be cognizant of it, and yet has the same attitude towards it. That stings.

Oh, how charming am I? Sorry about that.

HAPPY MOTHERS DAY! It blew my mind and was the most beautiful thing watching you and the mini when we were in town last month. You have a lot to celebrate today.
Love and hugs to you all!
