At least he doesn’t have any desire to be Robin

When Kathy came up to visit last fall (or summer, since it was still fucking god awful hot outside), she bought the Mini his own “kie kie”¹ which I had put away for the time being because of my raging paranoia regarding SIDS. It wasn’t until just recently that I put a very small blanket in his crib to cover him up with when he got cold. Now that he’s a little older, I pulled the kie kie out and threw it in the wash. When I pulled it out of the dryer, I threw it around him like a cape, and sang the theme to Batman, like you do. After that he proceeded to run around the house dancing, as I sang.

Kind of like I did when I was a kid, except I was in my underwear and wearing my mothers shawl and high heels.

I guess I should be happy it didn’t go that far….. yet.

¹: a blankie… duh people.

William likes to run around wearing my fuzzy pink slippers. Nick prefers hats. Anything can be a hat. A piece of paper, a toy, a strand of spaghetti, the play kitchen sink, etc.

When I was a tot, it was all about the Superman. A dish towel makes an excellent cape. I’d connect the ends with a safety pin and everything.
