Hot girls

I keep firing up Movable Type, sitting here, trying to write some banal content for some poor unsuspecting soul to waste five minutes of their day, looking for something funny, or witty. It’s just not happening.

This time, three years ago, I was standing on a beach, getting married (Hawaiian time, of course). It’s crazy to think that we’ve already been married for three years. We’ve been through so much together in the last three years. And even though his pee sometimes smells like cheerios, and even though he sometimes leaves his messenger bag in the middle of the floor, I still love him, and he’s still my best friend. He still manages to make me laugh with the weird situations he thinks up in his head

We’re headed away for the weekend to celebrate, since last year, I was so fat and uncomfortable, that I wasn’t even in any shape to drive to the damn Hallmark store to get the Meester a card. I am, a prize wife, indeed. We’re also celebrating a new job for the Meester. An opportunity he couldn’t bear to pass up and one that will let me stay home with the Mini for longer than originally anticipated, which is the ideal situation all around.

This is the first time we’re going away overnight (well, two nights) without the Mini. While I’m looking forward to catching up on sleep without worrying about having to get up, the thought of not seeing him for two whole days makes me sick. I know we both need to get away and take some time for ourselves, but it’s going to be hard to enjoy it when I’ll be thinking about the Mini 23 hours and 59 minutes of the day.

Happy Anniversary.

What beach did you get married on?

I got married quietly on magic island at sunset in Dec ’04 … I do miss living there.

Happy anniversary you two. It’s been a hell of a year for you both.

When you get home I’m sure that the Mini and his new best friend, aka The Toy Trumpet from Auntie Helen, will be glad to see you.

The Cheerios-smelling-pee thing? I always thought that (about myself) and I read in a book about the science of scent that urine actually has a very similar scent profile to honey, which is in Cheerios.

Congrats on the anniversary and the new job.

Oh Happy Anniversary! Have so much fun.

And great news about the Meester’s new job.

I know you’ll survive the two days without the Mini but I hope you can actually enjoy them too!

Happy Anniversary! And congrats on the Meeeester’s new job (in my head I always say meeeeester with a drawn out E … no idea why). Hope you enjoy your getaway.

23 hrs and 59 minutes a day, eh?

So that’s how long it takes you guys to do the deed? 1 minute?

You DO need a vacation!

isn’t it crazy how much we love the idea of having a break from our children, but when we actually get one we miss them like nothing else and can’t wait to see them again? enjoy your weekend (as much as you can) and Happy Anniversary!

Happy anniversary! Wow, that 3 years seems to have flown by. Tell your meester congrats on his new job, too! Hope you two have a great weekend :)

Happy Anniversary! And yes I’m sure you both will be thinking of the Mini the whole time. Our first away time was when our son was 6mos old and I swore he looked completely different when we returned and that he wouldn’t remember us.

But you know what a paranoid freak I am. Not at ALL like you.

Congrats on all those things!

Happy Anniversary! What is that with stinky man pee?

Have a good time away. The mini won’t ever remember that you were gone after the fact.

Happy Anniversary to you both! I still remember your awesome pink dress. Enjoy yourselves!

happy anniversary sweetie, I hope you had a lovely time.

Dude, what are you doing sniffing your husband’s pee anyway?

Pee-sniffing aside, happy anniversary!

Happy (belated) anniversary. May the two of you have many happy cheerio-pee scented years ahead!

That first weekend away from the kid can be harrowing, yes. But it’s good for you. You’ll come back, the wee guy will be fine, and you’ll realize that although you’re integral to his well-being, your being there 24/7 just isn’t required.

Dammit, I suck at milestones. Happy belated anniversary!!!!
