Raise your hand if you just saw titties?

We’re coming up on that time of year again. Fall means pumpkins and colorful leaves and cider and crisp air. To say that I am giddy is an understatement.

But did you also know that it’s also booby season?

For those of you new here, or for those of you that don’t read my archives (which I’m guessing you’re saving for the time when you have a raging case of dysentary, right?), you might not know that I was involved 100 years ago (read: 5 years, which is 100 in internet years) in the original boobiethon. I was broke, and alone, and Robyn set up a campaign to get me to spend Thanksgiving with them. One thing led to another and not only did we raise $359 for a plane ticket, but $1600. The difference was donated to Komen foundation, since the whole thing happened during breast cancer awareness month. That and well, there were boobs involved.

The whole thing was so successful that Robyn knew that she could raise more money for breast cancer awareness. There has been so much shit that has been stirred up over this whole thing, but you know what? Every year the spirit lives on and to date, the boobiethon has raised over 35k!!!

This year there’s a new face on the scene. Robyn has adopted the boobiethon out. Doing this for as long as she has with 2 small kids is not easy. And I could not be more happy with the person that she’s chosen to take over. The very person who did my redesign, who is so talented and dedicated. I know that Mel will make the 6th annual boobiethon the best year yet. And keeping in spirit, the first $359 dollars (the price of my original plane ticket) goes to a charity chosen by bloggers. This is a great way to raise money for your favorite charity. You can head on over to this entry over at Mel’s for more details.

Let’s help make this another successful year.

I couldn’t be more excited about the ‘Thon’s future – she’s going to do amazing things!
