Goodbye sunshine

by statia on May 18, 2007

We are now down to one week left before we move. Most of our stuff is packed up, save for the last minute things. We’re trying to empty out the fridge and freezer, and we’re doing a pretty damn good job of it. However, we have tons of mayonnaise, and not much else. I can probably call in Paula Deen to whip something up, but lo, we are out of butter. Sorry Paula.

My head is swimming over the fact that we are out of here in a week. It’s absolutely nuts to think about. For as much as I hate this state, there are definitely things that I will miss and I will especially miss the friends we’ve made here over the last few years.

At first we were going to all drive cross country, Griswold style, but honestly, it’s not really fair to the Mini to keep him couped up in a car for 8 hours a day. So he and I will be flying (second time for him in a plane, he’s world class this kid) into Pittsburgh wherein I will smoosh the hell out of Josie girl while I wait for the Meester to arrive.

As hectic and crazy as things are lately, the life, she is good.

I’m thrilled for you guys! I can’t wait for you to move back. I promise I’ll come and visit.

Do you have Mini signed up for frequent flyer miles? My friend signed her 6-wk-old up and now 4 years later has enough for a free tickets.

Am I wrong assuming that Meester is diving with 2 dogs and some lizards cross country?

Totally off subject….but, has it really been a few years?!?! It seems like it was yesterday that you moved out there. Dude. I’m getting frickin’OLD. Oh, and I’m glad you’re getting to go back where you want to be. There’s nothing like coming home.

Flying out sounds like a great plan. :-)

I like the new look of your blog, by the way.

Wait. Let me get this straight:

1) You’re getting on ANOTHER flight?!
2) You’re letting him drive across country alone?!

Oh man, there are going to be some awesome stories coming out of this move!!!!!! :)

I read your comment on Julie’s blog and came right over here. I thought I was the only one who didn’t do infancy very well. If one more person tells me to savor it, I’ll smack them. Because I am, but damn it, talking and walking is soooo much better.

Have a safe trip.

Ain’t it crazy? Our little one has flown two round-trips already too. My husband was commenting that she’ll probably have flown more in her first year than he did in his first 18.
