“Whatever. I do what I want.”

The Mini Me-ester seems to be in the business of keeping us on our toes in regards to sleeping. I’m onto his pattern and I suppose it’s just going to be one of those things, where working towards a resolution comes with age. We seem to go on an every other night sort of streak. One night he’ll sleep great with no problems. Three hours between feedings with nary a peep. Then the next night he’ll decide that “no this sleep bullshit is overrated and I’m not going to take it anymore” and getting him to fall asleep is like an exercise in futility, and when we do, he’s like a reverse baby doll whose eyes pop open the moment you lay him down. And clearly, you can see that his whole master plan is to make Mama write in run on sentences.

I know it could be much worse. We’re totally getting more sleep than most people with an infant this age. That doesn’t stop me from thinking about my wild fantasies where I dip his soothie in whiskey syrup.

You know, if whiskey syrup actually existed.

Oh, you’ll discover the magic “whiskey syrup” before too long. My husband calls it “children’s benadryl”. I called it Triaminic purple. Yeah, you can’t do it ALL the time…but when you NEED it…it’s your friend.

I bet if you let whiskey sit out in the sun long enough, the water would evaporate…presto, whiskey syrup!

The alcohol might also evaporate, though, so maybe not. Just drink it yourselves.

Is your title meant to allude to a Cartman quote? If not, it is one. Just thought I’d let you know this very important detail.

I’m sure it could be worse but you have every right to complain! Of course I’m completely biased since I’ll be going through it soon. Think it would be too over the top if I started complaining now?

So…what… you can’t feed them whiskey? Damn, I have SO much to learn.

Whiskey syrup should totally exist. You should invent it.

Mmm, whiskey syrup. I am down with that. Puts a whole new spin on breakfast.

Kathy March 28, 2007 at 6:22 pm

Mmmm whiskey.

WOW! That’s the same schedule we’re on. She sleeps like a champ one night and then up ever 2 hours the next … can’t figure it out. We’ve come to the same conclusion: it’ll improve with time.
