Well, son of a bitch.

We got our furniture last night. Everything is perfect, except for a crack in one of the end pieces of the crib, which, really bummed out the Meester. He was totally stoked to put it together. Then I heard major swearing ensuing and I figured it wasn’t a good time for pictures. What annoys me most is that, one, we paid A LOT of money for baby furniture. Sure, we could have gone to “big baby superstore” and gotten furniture in stock and it would have been a whole mess cheaper, but we wanted something that would hold up and quite frankly, I think we deserved that. It took a lot for us to get here. The other thing is that our furniture was special order from Quebec and it took 2½ months to get here and I don’t know if you’ve noticed, but at 31 weeks and change, we’re kind of running out of time. Especially considering our c-section is scheduled for 39 weeks. I’m bummed. It’s not the end of the world, but sometimes you want things to be all picture perfect and it’s not. My only hope is that it gets here before Fetus does.

Also, I avoided this due to the fact that I don’t want to be all whoreish and a comment monger, but I hear around these parts that it’s delurking week. As I’m starting to hand off my responsibilities at work little by little, I’m getting bored. Also, some of my favorite bloggers are popping out their kids left and right and they AREN’T UPDATING (ahem) and I don’t understand WHY. It’s not like they don’t have all of this free time now. I kid, I kid. If you read here, say hi, and leave your location (your little space on the internet, that is) and I’ll swing on by.

Oh that so sucks about the crib! What a terrible feeling to anticipate its arrival for so long and then…whammo.

Well remember that they’re French in Quebec and loads of “bon jours” and “mercis” might help get it to you on time. I’ve got a Canadian Frenchie friend that can help in a pinch if you need any help.

Fingers crossed that it gets to you in time.

Fucking Canada. Sorry about the crib.
Reading regularly, not saying anything particularly valuable – that’s me. Hi.

Ok, that was really supposed to be “delurks”. Although “dekurking” might be fun too.

Don’t suppose your crib company has the initials M L? I do so love their stuff. Sorry you have problems with it. I blame Donna. ;)

Hi. Long time lurker, first time poster. Actually, I’ve posted before, but it sounded good.

I am SO happy for you and the Meester. Our twins are pushing towards four now. Since their arrival, I’ve learned that there are rewards for going through tough times. My girls are the best things that have ever happened to me.

Best wishes!

Congrats with your upcoming arrival. Bummer about the furniture.

I guess I’ll delurk though I have commented before. I followed you over here from Everyday Stranger who I’ve been reading for about…4 years or so.

Don’t want to make ya feel worse – but I found the recovery ALOT harder than that last month. Didn’t have a c-section but a 4th degree episiotomy, neither of which I hope for the possible 2nd time around. Good luck! Hope the scheduled c-section goes as planned. At least when you can’t sleep right now it’s not filled with screams.

Hi, Delurking, I have been reading your blog on and off for a while, thanks for sharing your pregnancy stories! (I’m 17 weeks)
