Showing you my “oh” face.

by statia on December 13, 2006

For some reason, I’m just not feeling the Christmas mood this year. We went through the motions and put up our tree, and the lights on the mantle, but to me, they’re just kind of there. I’ve been wrapping once a week, to keep up with the presents and making sure they arrive to their destination on time, but there’s just something about Christmas this year that I’m ambivalent about.

Moi: i’m totally ambivalent about christmas this year
Moi: there’s just no christmas feeling or magic, or some bullshit
skits: I’ve been feeling that
skits: you’ve got all this extra STRESS right now
Moi: but i don’t know if that’s it or not
Moi: like, it’s just not there
Moi: like the verge of an orgasm, but you can’t quite achieve it
Moi: that’s how christmas feels to me
Moi: this year
skits: dude. that’s like…the most accurate description EVER
skits: also? suck
Moi: and quite frankly, I can’t think of a worse feeling
Moi: i just can’t find my christmas orgasm

Oh man! I’ve been feeling the same way – but I coulnd’t come up with the right analogy until now – thanks!

Your Christmas balls just ain’t hung right, that’s all. Just think of all those packages wrapped in festive colors.

Have you tried getting those really big candy canes?

Gah. I feel dirty now.

Can’t blow your Christmas load eh?

skits December 13, 2006 at 9:09 am

I love us.

You know what? I think that really is the perfect description.

You need peppermint-flavored lube.

Exactly. Right there with you. I keep waiting for the Christmas to kick in.

I’ve been thinking about the same thing lately, and Skits totally nailed it. Uh, no pun intended. Just wishful thinking. Heh.

God, I am the same way this year. I keep trying though because it feels so good, but after? You just want to roll over and go to sleep.

Kathy, you crack me the fuck up.

Christmas load. BAHAHA!

Dude. Loving your analogy. The past few years have been like this for us with all the baby uncertainty. This year we don’t even have any decorations up. Like we haven’t even entered the Christmas plateau phase and I am not even breathing hard. Sometimes, I’m just not in the mood. I have a feeling that next year when we are both moms we’ll be coming all over the place. Now that’s a lovely visual.

I’m so over ’06 – my motto this season has been “ho ho blow me”.
