Not that there’s anything wrong with that…….

How is it that everyone else in the free world knows that Lily Tomlin is gay but me?

donna May 31, 2006 at 9:27 am

I didn’t know either. But then again, I was shocked to find out that Michael Stipe is gay. I’m so not up on my gay news.

Nicole May 31, 2006 at 9:34 am

That would make two of us… and the Michael Stipe thing is news to me too!

Ms. Pants May 31, 2006 at 9:42 am

I guess I’m not surprised really, but it’s not something I knew.

Though Michael Stipe was a given to me. He’s fruitier than coochie coochie.

BB May 31, 2006 at 9:47 am

I had no idea about Lily, though I suppose I’m not all that surprised. What did surprise me was that the cute guy on Prision Break is gay in real life.

M@ May 31, 2006 at 10:08 am

Didn’t have a clue.

Robber Barren May 31, 2006 at 10:13 am

Didn’t know on either count, though I also peg myself as not-surprised re: Lily Tomlin.

SJW May 31, 2006 at 10:17 am

Didn’t see the Lily thing coming. Stipe, on the other hand… fruity fruit fruit

erika May 31, 2006 at 10:30 am

You guys are kidding me, right? LOOK AT HER. My gaydar was screaming “Lesbian!” long before I knew what gaydar was.

Wow. And Ms. Pants has me peeing in mine… “He’s fruitier than coochie coochie.” Hee hee.

Donna May 31, 2006 at 11:03 am

Leslie Gore is also gay — who knew? It’s her party I guess.

geeky May 31, 2006 at 11:23 am

huh. i didnt know either.

jen May 31, 2006 at 12:35 pm

I didn’t know either, about either one. Although I always wondered about Stipe….

I think the biggest gay shocker for me was George Michael.

(*snort* I am SO kidding…)

Jenn May 31, 2006 at 1:47 pm

I didn’t know that either. But I didn’t know Eric Clapton was British until last month.

LB May 31, 2006 at 3:26 pm

If it makes you feel any better… I had no idea, and I pride myself on knowing every little thing about celebrities!

ciz May 31, 2006 at 3:41 pm

Camille May 31, 2006 at 3:41 pm

I didn’t know it, but like the others…I’m really not surprised now that I think about it.

Ornery May 31, 2006 at 4:07 pm

Perhaps because you’ve been so busy looking for your stickers and sticker book?

girl May 31, 2006 at 8:05 pm

it wasn’t just you. I’m not exactly surprised, but I didn’t know either.

Kate May 31, 2006 at 8:20 pm

I’ll be danged! I had no idea!

KristynMarie May 31, 2006 at 10:27 pm

Hmm… I didn’t know either. Man, I am so out of the loop! :)

millie May 31, 2006 at 10:27 pm

Maybe because she’s always just been Lily Tomlin, living her life, staying pretty private? You’re probably a bit young but I grew up watching her on LaughIn. Love love love her.

Vanessa June 1, 2006 at 12:21 am

Right about now, she’s on spin cycle.

The Eric Clapton English question cracked me up. That should be round 2-ethnicity. Round 1 was sexual inclination and LOOK at the info you have wrought.

Lola Badeggs June 1, 2006 at 2:53 am

Lily Tomlin is gay? Really? I did not know that.

Jenny June 1, 2006 at 7:35 am

I had no idea. Imagine if her and Ellen hooked up. That’d be some funny shit!

April June 1, 2006 at 8:39 am

No clue on either her or Michael Stipe.

I have apparently been living under a rock.

Kristin Coffey June 1, 2006 at 11:01 am

Crap, I had no idea either! Michael Stipe is gay, I’m sad about that one! (Only for the ladies out there wishing for him, but now lots of men are lucky!) Ha ha :)

Beth June 1, 2006 at 2:03 pm

Wow I really am oblvious, eh? I knew about Michael, but Lily – nah.

Cory June 1, 2006 at 2:47 pm

I learned it about 30 sec ago when I got onto this here blog.

karmajenn June 1, 2006 at 3:04 pm

News to me.

trish June 1, 2006 at 3:08 pm

I never knew that either.

linda June 2, 2006 at 1:21 am

I had no idea!!!

Amber June 2, 2006 at 12:00 pm

Not only did I not know about Lily Tomlin….I didn’t even know who Michael Stip was…after I looked it up I felt dumb. Very dumb. While I didn’t know his name I have seen him. I didn’t think he was gay…I just thought he was British…ya know? Their men tend to be fruity-ish but straight. And there is nothing wrong with that either.

Fraulein N June 2, 2006 at 12:27 pm

Michael Stipe? Lily Tomlin? How in the hell did I not know this?!

Chris June 2, 2006 at 5:10 pm

Beth told me this the other night. I was surprised but not surprised, you know?

Vanessa June 3, 2006 at 12:45 am

“I just thought he was British…ya know? Their men tend to be fruity-ish but straight.”

Excuse me?

Stereotype much?

Amy June 3, 2006 at 5:54 pm

Wait, what? Ok, that was totally off the gaydar.

Amanda June 4, 2006 at 11:17 am

What? No way? I totally didn’t know that…

robyn June 4, 2006 at 2:32 pm

Ummmm…REM is from Athens, GA (and Stipe was born in Decatur). Kinda not really British.

Had no clue on Lily Tomlin though. Not a single one.

I just finished watching Grease 2, btw. I know you can appreciate that.

Amber June 12, 2006 at 2:21 pm

Preamble: Sorry to Statia in advance for responding to another poster on her blog. I never do it but I was asked a question (as rhetorical as it might have been).
Hi Chris. Yes, I do stereotype..all the time. As an American Indian I think I’m entitled. No? Besides, I thought the tone of this blog was good- natured tongue and cheek. If I offended you or anyone else I apologise. Twas not my intent.
