New clothes, faux fur and coach bags, oh my.

by statia on April 10, 2006

What does a girl normally do when she’s been given a crushing blow in the form of a negative beta?

Well, ok, first she drinks. And let me tell you, that was the best tasting beer ever.

Then? She goes shopping. (But really, this was the next day because drinking beer makes a girl tired, seriously)

We’re both in need of clothes in a major way. So we hit the outlets and made a dent in the basics. I picked up a new Coach bag as a treat to myself. I’m too lazy to take a picture, so you get to deal with a crappy picture that I found off the internet. I also picked up a new wristlet, you know, because it was on sale.

We also added a new member to our family this weekend. We’ve decided that since my uterus is busted that we’re going to just become a veritable farm. The Meester has been eyeing this blue tongued skink for a long time. Since he wasn’t sold, they put him up for adoption, and this is about the time that the meester gave me the puppy eyes. He’s a cool little little medium guy, if you like lizards.

We also got a Lovesac, which I’ve been coveting for the last three years. Once again, I’m too lazy to get the camera, so you’ll have to settle for a crappy internet picture. This thing is so damn comfortable, that I might just start using it as my bed. Miss M. thinks that we’ve finally recognized that she IS a diva and have bought her the appropriate throne. G-man isn’t sure if it’s a ginormous big boy ball or a new bed for him. Luckily, it’s big enough for all of us.

So, what have we learned today? That if IVF doesn’t work for you, go out and spend a lot of money. Most likely you’re broke from the cycle, but hey, that’s what credit cards are for.

Alcohol, credit cards, and shopping. Sounds like great therapy to me. Sign me up!

Ah, the shopping. Always good in a crisis. I do love that bag. Tres chic.

I’m sorry still about the cycle.

Alcohol and retail therapy are good things. As for the lovesac – I have been coveting as well. Perhaps time to make a purchase. Now that bag is fabulous and I’m glad you splurged on the wristlet, I mean it was on sale – how could you not? Thinking of you.

Amen to that. I’m lately trending towards more angry, loud music, as well. Remarkably satisfying. But beer is always better.

Mmmmmmm…… love the new bag!

So you’re the gal to ask: I’ve been feeling particularly indulgent lately and we’re leaving tomorrow for Philadelphia – any recommendations?

I totally read that as “skank” the first time. Skink, skank… same difference.

Steff April 11, 2006 at 8:16 am

Love the bag!

That lovesac looks so squishy and comfortable. I could totally see you getting swallowed up in that thing and absolutely loving it.

I am salivating over the Coach bag.

I was very fond of the skink that I had years ago, but he was the only one of four lizards who could escape his cage, regardless of the clips and covers.

I call it money therapy… and occasionally, I’m a user… :)

Glad you are taking care of yourself and looking forward to seeing you soon!

Well said….

Jonathan April 11, 2006 at 9:51 pm

Finally a lovesac! I never thought you’d get one.

Stephanie April 12, 2006 at 11:14 am

Hey, I totally forgot about the completely legal buy-yourself-a-present-to-make-up-for-a-shitty-time experience! I am going on-line right now to pick out my negative beta coach bag!!

robyn April 12, 2006 at 9:40 pm

Best. Therapy. Ever.

skits April 13, 2006 at 5:16 am

Dude. I covet your Lovesac. And, it sounds so wrong when I put it that way. heh.

Tiffanni April 14, 2006 at 8:31 pm

I love me some COACH. Great bag! ;)

Deltus April 17, 2006 at 10:59 am

I giggle heartily at the term “lovesac”.
