When your ovaries make your lazy ass look bad

by statia on March 22, 2006

Thanks for checking in on me and my ovaries. Seriously, 19??? That’s double what they expected. Now if only the rest of my body worked properly… well, if the rest of my body worked properly, I would have had two baseball teams. One for each league. I would have been all like “MOVE OVER MCCAUGHEY’S, WE’RE NEXT IN LINE FOR A FREE RIDE.” And while I’m amazed at my ovarian reserve, I’m thanking dog right now that they’re not sticking all 19 of those puppies back in there.

Transfer is scheduled for Saturday. I should find out tomorrow exactly how many fertilized.

Right now it’s time for more relaxing. 19 eggs really makes you crampy.

You’re egg-a-riffic!

Lori March 22, 2006 at 4:57 pm

Congrats on the 19 eggs! I think that earns you as much relaxing as you want. I hope the fertilization report is just as fantastic.
In the meantime, why on earth wouldn’t you want to put them all back in????

Beth March 22, 2006 at 5:05 pm

Sheesh, what a show-off.

suzie March 22, 2006 at 5:34 pm

wow! you’re like an egg meeeellionare. so exciting.

hmmm… if 16 fertilize, and they transfer 2-3 and freeze the rest and you have a baby (or TWO) each time… that’s about …. SIX kids from this one cycle. that’s the brady bunch!!!!!!! you’ll be driving a bus.

seriously though, i have every single finger and toe crossed for you. i was looking at these this weekend and thinking to myself, “i bet i know somebody who i get to buy these for soon.” keep us posted.

I’m eggstatic that it was so successful. :) hee.

coloratura March 22, 2006 at 6:39 pm

NINETEEN? Oh my good gracious. You wouldn’t believe how much money we threw down the drain to get them to put back… are you ready for this… .ONE.

19 is a wonderful number. I am really happy for you and I will keep all digits and appendages crossed for you… if I can do that without tripping.

Hang in there!

jen March 22, 2006 at 7:04 pm

That is awesome! wooo…

Manuela March 22, 2006 at 7:23 pm

WOW! What fabulous news… k… now I have to try really really hard to not be debillitated by egg envy.

Linda March 22, 2006 at 7:31 pm

NINETEEN? Holy shit. And Dr. Moustache thought you had twelve follicles? Where the heck were all of those other follicles hiding? Well no wonder you were cramping badly last night.Totally understandable. 19 x 19mm each? You had footballs for ovaries. Dr. Moustache was a hair off on my count, too. He said I had 10 and I had 12. So maybe he underestimates so we’ll be happy campers on ER day.

Camille March 22, 2006 at 7:31 pm

thanks for sharing this journey with us. i am so very excited for you both, and look forward to the updates!

I’m so happy for you I could pee! Nineteen — holy schnikies! Rest up. You’ve got a big day on Saturday! *sprinkling Georgia water on the monitor for good luck*

geeky March 22, 2006 at 8:10 pm

go eggs, go! :)

thalia March 23, 2006 at 3:53 am

19 is amazing, well done! I’m sure you’re very sore, but it must be incredibly encouraging. Hopefully teh fertilisation report is just as good.

donna March 23, 2006 at 5:27 am

You are a medical marvel.

Best of luck!

Mrs. T March 23, 2006 at 5:48 am

Gosh you make for some tough competition… I’m jealous, can you tell? I hope I can rank up there in egg production like you… I’m so happy for you and can’t wait to find out how many fertilized.

Kathy March 23, 2006 at 6:44 am

19! Rad! I always knew you were an ovarian over achiever.

Now rest rest rest.

girl March 23, 2006 at 7:39 am

kick ass! I’m keeping my fingers and toes crossed for you. I’ll have my husband cross his toes for you too. he has really long toes (I call them finger-toes), so it’ll be easy for him.

Stephanie March 23, 2006 at 7:42 am

19! that is fanfuckingtastic (i am on a Mr. Big kick).

and just think, you could have a whole baseball team!

That Girl March 23, 2006 at 8:05 am

Good luck!

Teresa March 23, 2006 at 8:46 am

19-wow. That makes my ovaries cramp.

Best of luck to you!

Ornery March 23, 2006 at 8:48 am

Your ovaries are clearly show-offs. If they had any say in the matter, I’m sure they’d prefer to leave your body and do something big, like run for president or be a contestant on Fear Factor.

Jenny March 23, 2006 at 9:17 am

19!!! Fabulous! I hope your ovaires are recovering. Best of luck on Saturday.

Solonor March 23, 2006 at 9:44 am

What? You couldn’t go for 20? Wimp.

caltechgirl March 23, 2006 at 9:59 am

Forget baseball, that’s almost an entire Hockey roster.

Here’s to a good implant!

Polichick March 23, 2006 at 10:00 am

Wow, your ovaries sure got drunk and gave it over easy. ;-P

Good luck Saturday!

Tracy March 23, 2006 at 10:10 am

Ok, so this presents an interesting question…how many would you implant if they all fertilized?

Amy March 23, 2006 at 12:20 pm

Good Luck!

Broken March 23, 2006 at 1:18 pm

I was going to try and say something funny and encouraging, but it looks like that has already been covered.
I hope it all goes well.
