I may just meet every single blogger yet.

I started the birth control pill today. Which is so laughable. I mean, I know it’s so that the doctor can hijack your cycle, but seriously. Me. On birth control.

Antral follicle count yesterday showed 14 resting follicles. Which means, I’ll be on the micro flare protocol. I’ll explain this later for the people that are just scratching their heads. My fellow infertiles get it. My doctor was very reassuring that it didn’t bother him to do a wanding during the tide. Which, uh, I didn’t even give it a second thought dude. This is why I’m paying you assloads of money. To wand me at inappropriate times. (P.S. There really is no appropriate time).

Last night was a “ladies” night (plus one of the male kind). I got to meet up with the lovely Manuela, who just absolutely radiates in person. So animated and funny. I was accompanied by Donna (who’s a saint for putting up with my incessant babbling while trapped in a moving vehicle. That’s just masochistic on my part) who carpooled with me. non-blogger Amber came out (who I’ve labeled “hi you look fucking fabulous in your black leather skirt and kickass stilettos at 15 WEEKS!!” How cute is she?) and certainly last but not least, Manuela’s wonderful husband Mr. Pinkline, who I’m convinced would have gotten along with the Meester scarily well. Sadly, my boy couldn’t make it as he’s feeling like total shit, which was completely exaserbated by a less-than-24-hour trip to Miami. It was a ton of fun and it seemed like too short of a night.

It’s so weird to be actually starting IVF. We never thought we’d get here. And it’s funny, I’m freaked out about the IVF part and the conclusion. The meester is more freaked out about the end result. He’s suddenly asking his father friends, what is it like to be a father. Um, shouldn’t we thought about that before hand?

Yay for an underway cycle. Ladies night sounds tres fun.

Best of luck to you this cycle.

Sounds like a fun night! And it wasn’t raining yesterday which is a bonus if you had to go up to the city.

BTW, I am now an Ulta frequent flyer, and cannot resist going in after getting my latte two stores down.

Babe, I expected nothing less than incessant babbling. How fucking cute are we all??

I’m so glad you are underway!

And I’m bummed to miss out on the fun with Manuela. I had posted to her blog that I’d like to join, then didn’t hear back so assumed I’d missed the boat. I should have persisted and emailed her. So glad you had a great time! Those kind of nights can be so far and few between.

Fingers and toes crossed for you this cycle!

Yea! It’s started!

And I was freaked out the first time I got the wand during my cycle. But the nurse was wonderful. Now it doesn’t bother me a bit either.

Great news that you’re getting started, it’s always so much easier to cope when you’re actually cycling. 14 follicles sounds great to start with!

Thinking of you — go follicles, go!
