Taking my “lipstick” out of its case

Dear Ulta,

When I first moved to California, I never once dreamed that I would be without an Ulta. I mean, hello? This is California for fucks sake. They have everything in California. Seriously, between you and Panera, I was seriously considering taking the meester and running back to Philadelphia. Did I move to fucking guam or the bay area? It’s been nearly a year and a half since I’ve moved here and the closest Ulta just opened a few months ago, but was on the way to my in-laws house about an hour away. Not exactly convenient. Again, that’s the middle of nowhere, this is the bay area. There are at least 5 Sephoras within a 30 mile radius that I can think of.

And when I saw that the shopping center near my house was opening an Ulta, I heard angels sing and the light shined down upon all of your beauty superstore goodness. I bowed down and cried. Thank you Ulta. My wallet will hate you, but we will be together again, where I can roam your isles freely and ogle all of the hair products like a slack jawed yokel.

Love,
Statia

P.S. Panera? You should take the hint from Ulta. I need my Bacon Turkey Bravo fix. My shrinking ass misses you.

Statia-

There is a Panera in Cupertino, which I know isn’t close, but on a Saturday is only 30 minutes from San Mateo. Thats where I live, and think maybe you live nearby since an Ulta is opening in Bridgepoint shopping center. Unless you are up closer to Tanforan where another one is opening.

I wondered what is was, and am now looking forward to the grand opening- you have my curiosity piqued!

So… why is Ulta better than Sephora?? We don’t have EITHER of these stores in Canada… but I plan my vacations around Sephora locations… I once spent four HOURS in the San Francisco one.

I’ve never even been in an Ulta. They don’t believe in Florida, I guess. But Tampa Bay just got its first Sephora this fall so I’ll deal…
