Banged up and cramped

by statia on November 16, 2005

Instead of getting lunch today, I went out and got a haircut instead. You know, because lunch isn’t really that important, but hair is. For the last ten years, my hair has pretty much consisted of being all one length, parted at the side and framed around the face. It’s been various lengths and colors, blonde, red, brown, short, medium, long, but the style has always remained the same. It dawned on me, that I really haven’t done anything different with it, despite wanting to. I’ve just always been too much of a wuss. Sure, it’s just hair you say, but it’s not just hair. Not when your mother kept it short because you had fine hair as a kid and the guy at the bowling alley repeatedly said “LITTLE BOY, PLEASE GET OFF THE LANE” over the loudspeaker and you were the “little boy”.

Traumatized much? Trust me, therapy is money well spent.

So today, I got about three inches or so hacked off and got bangs. (Why is it that everytime I thing of the word bangs, I think of little kids making gun fingers and making the imitation gun noise? Isn’t that weird?) BANGS!! I look so freaking weird with bangs. It doesn’t look bad. I’ve gotten the “it’s cute” and “I really like it” from some of my coworkers. I don’t think it’s that I don’t like it, I’m just not sure how I feel about it yet. A major change like this takes some getting used to. I’d show you a picture, but the meester has to wait until after work, and so do you. Besides, camera phones don’t portray the best lighting for my skin, and really, it’s all about me here.

Oh and I’m thoroughly convinced that the Period Fairy™ is a ginormous fucking whore. She forced me to have a peanut butter cup for lunch. And the cramps. I can’t take the cramps. I can’t wait to go home and whine like a little bitch about it.

I’ve been telling you to get bangs for the last 2 years. It’ll be an adjustment for you I’m sure but I bet it’ll compliment your face really nicely.

Aww…I wanna see a picture! Props for stepping out of your comfort zone.

I hear ya about the cramps. I think its something about the winter weather that makes them worse. (Just a theory)

Reese’s Cups: they’re not just for breakfast anymore…!
Bangs rule! They look so soft
and keep the “thinking” lines hidden… ;^)

Your PF let you get away with only one peanut butter cup? Jeez- mine holds me down and forces at least 2 past my lips.

Love bangs- straight down for the preppy, swept to the side for thehip, ratted and sprayed up for the 80′s flashbacks after drinking a couple of glasses of wine…love the bangs

Period fairy? So she showed up??? Mine’s still missing…

Instead of ‘bangs’… why not sound all Euro and call it ‘fringe’… so much more accurate of a picture anyway.
