Somethin’ bit meeee!

by statia on April 14, 2005

I had to get a shot yesterday. I am totally and deathly afraid of shots. I don’t know why, because I can give blood until I’m deflated and have no problem with it. But for some reason, I get all anxiety ridden and clammy when it comes to having to get a shot. Thankfully, the shot was in my ass and not in my arm or my leg. I have enough cushion in my ass and I didn’t have to look at them sticking a needle in me. I was so anxiety ridden that I scared the nurse and she had to have a different nurse come in to administer the shot. Hi, my name is sporty, and I’m nearing 30. The second nurse came in and was totally cool, and the Meester was there to hold my hand. We chatted while she looked at my pasty ass and then she was done. I didn’t feel a thing. I was so good, that I wanted a lollipop.

Instead, as a treat, we finally broke down and bought a tivo. Yes, we don’t have tivo, and yes, I’ve wanted one since they came out, but just never got around to getting one. Everyone tells me “you won’t know how you lived without it.” To that I say, I already don’t know how I’ve lived without it.

From now on, a permanent imprint of my ass will be on the sofa.

We’re thinking about making the leap as a Christmas/Hanukkah present to ourselves… can’t wait!

You are soo lucky. I have been wanting TiVO for ever! We came close one time to buying, but never quite made the jump. Congrats and have fun!

DVRs rock! And you’re the first person I’ve met who was afraid of the shot, but not afraid of the needle. I know a few needle-shy people.

There are no Tivos here.

That’s right-from the country that gave the world scones, Cornish pasties, and Jude Law, they can’t come up with something as mind-numbingly delightful as Tivo.

Then again, in a land where “City Garderner” is all the have to offer on Thursday nights on the BBC, maybe I can live with that.

I can send a Shrek band-aid for that shot mark. Just let me know. I’ have it on standby.

We have a RePlay TV and I love it. We bought our’s before the newer model came out without commercial advance. I don’t know what it’s like to watch commercials anymore, I love that it edits them out.

Mmmmm…TiVo… Now you know why I couldn’t stop hugging mine when you were here last year. ;-)

I’ve had I TiVO since I was 16 (I’m now 20 & have 2 TiVOs, they are adictive) and I hate going on vacation because I have to watch TV without TiVO. I’m so spoiled! I would be lost without mine. Congrats on getting one…It will change your life! LOL

Award for comment that makes me feel older than them-thar hills:

I’ve had I TiVO since I was 16…

Please excuse me. I have to go take my Geritol now.

our tivo arrived last week and like you, our lives have already changed! It was great to be able to pause live TV last night when my dad called.

Whoops, Sorry!
