It ain’t easy bein’ cheesy.

About a month or so ago, Sphinxy was telling me about Baked Cheetos, and that they were available. Which, I always wondered if they’d ever come out with. I loves me some cheetos, but we never buy them because the Meester and I have absolutely NO willpower when it comes to junk food. Or any food for that matter. If it’s in our house, it will be gone in about .03 seconds flat. And while I can exercise restraint on my own, together, we look to eachother for justification, and usually find it somehow.

So when she told me about them, I seriously am not lying when I tell you that I’ve searched every store in a general 20 mile radius of my house. Ok, I am lying, because I didn’t dedicate my entire life to finding them, but if I was in a store, I looked, and we go out a lot, so maybe I’m only partially lying. You’d think living in the Bay Area, we’d have a lot of whatever is latest and greatest, but notsomuch. Not unless it’s technology related anyway. But where there are geeks and nerds, there’s usually junkfood. I’m rambling again. I fucking looked all over the place for these things for a month and they were nowhere to be found. And then yesterday at lunch, we stopped off at a grocery store and there they were, in all of their glory. A light shown down from the heavens and I heard angels sing. They only had the 99¢ sized bags, whereas I know there are big bags available, just not here. Stupid California.

These things… holy christ on a cracker, they’re good. In fact, I think I like them better than the regular cheetos. Because you know how the regular cheetos glue themselves to your teeth for 6 years after you eat them? These don’t do that too much. They’re lighter and crunchier than regular cheetos, and in all honesty, they’re not that much lower in fat. One serving has about 5 grams of fat, and the bag was labeled as a 2.5 serving bag, which I happily scarfed down. Not something we could eat as guiltless as say something like pretzels, but they’re definitely good.

And you know that willpower thing we have issues with? Yeah, when those big bags finally are available in the grocery stores, we’ll definitely have these in our house all the time.

These are our Cheeto obsession around here. We practically fight over who gets to lick the bag at the end…

We absolutely love those!!! We have a hard time finding them here (Florida) too. I think it’s because the stores only get a few bags in at a time and everyone else gets to them beofre we do. But mmmm I like these much better than the regular ones!

Mmmm. I bought them they other day, and I was shocked that they were so good. They don’t give you orange finger as bad either.

I used to eat Cheetos by the truckload. I’ve moved on. Don’t know if it is everywhere, but here there is a brand of potato chips called “Old Dutch” and they have the unique flavor “Oven Roasted Chicken”. Now them’s good eatin’!

I just find it funny that a product that will be one of the first reached for when some stoner goes into the 7-11 hoping to cure their munchies says “Baked!” right on the package.

“Whoa, dude, I AM baked! How did they know?! Duuuude…”

Mmmm Cheetos.

I found those cheetos about 4 months ago, and thought they were heaven. mm.. But they are lower in fat, I thought. Regular cheetos have 10 grams of fat per serving and the baked ones have 5. Granted, that’s more than the other baked chips, but hey, it’s something. Mmmmm, they are good.
