Boom Boom Boom shake the room

It’s funny how you take certain things for granted. The Meester was all excited this morning over a brief thunderstorm we had. Thunderstorms are pretty rare here, which sucks, because I love a good thunderstorm. Even in Philadelphia, they were kind of lacking the last few years. I remember one year, I was about 12 or 13, we had a particularly bad summer. The heat was so bad that we had brown outs and black outs, and the thunderstorms that came with it were nothing short of spectacular. On our drive out to California, we got to see some really cool lightning bolts across the plains, and off into the distance. It was better than the fireworks shows that were going on off to the side.

There’s nothing like a good clap of thunder to make you startle a little.

Oh man, thunderstorms. I’m one of the few people who can’t really stand them. I HATED monsoon season when I lived in Arizona. Hated it with a passion.

When the thunderstorms start, it’s me, my dog, and my cat, all huddled in the bed together. Ugh.

LOVE a good storm with heaps of lightning and thunder. I get out the lawn chair, if I can situate myself such that I’m not getting rained on. Only ever had one that scared me, back in Iowa, when I was driving home. Must’ve been about 2-3 lightning strikes per second, going on quite near the car, all around me in fact. Scared me something fierce, but didn’t turn me off of storms though.

I would so have to agree with you on the thunderstorms, their is nothing like being in NJ and hearing the thunder bounce off the mountains where we live. Its pretty spectaculuar.

Thunderstorms are about the only thing I miss about living in Oklahoma. I love a good thunderstorm.
