I think this week is going backwards.

There’s nothing worse than a monkey with a wrench to just fuck up your whole week. For the last two weeks, the meester and I have walked around with the notion that we had two four day weeks in a row. All week long, I’ve looked forward to just chilling on the sofa tomorrow, with seester who’s coming over tonight, and reading a book, and watching the SVU marathon that’s on all day tomorrow. Then I’d take a shower, get ready and we’d all go out to dinner, and drink. Well, the meester wouldn’t drink, but the rest of us would. Sounds like a perfect plan. Ahhhhhhhh.

Well, no. That’s not the perfect plan. Somewhere in there, I have to get up and go to work. Tomorrow. On New Years Eve. What the fuck? Our holiday isn’t until Monday. How the hell did we manage to mess this up? And really, Monday? Doesn’t Friday make more sense? This week was going slow enough already, and now it just came to a screeching halt. Because I have to get up tomorrow morning, and do this all over again.

That’s it. Next year, it’s back to my tradition of taking the entire two week period off.

If companies were run by people who were right and decent, we’d get those two weeks off gratis anyway. Well, except for companies that sell stuff I want to buy. Oh, and restaurants need to stay open too. And the liquor and beer stores. But other than those, we should have the 2 weeks off, dammit!

sure, that totally sucks now, but come Monday, you’ll be laughing at the rest of us bastards.

besides. i figure most “smart” people at your work requested Friday off, so not many people will be in the office, right? so you can surf/slack all day, and get paid for it. sure, you’d rather have the day off, but a paid slack day ain’t so bad, either.

Originally we had BOTH NYE and Jan 3 off… but then some busybody went and told the Prez that “everyone else” is working on January 3, so they took away Jan 3 but gave us another floating holiday. And they let us out at 1pm today. I have to remember moments like that when I’m ready to quit Monday morning because my boss wants to know what got accomplished during a week when exactly 2 sales people were in the office. *sigh*

My meester has to work tomorrow, too, and is off Monday. So he showed them. He took Tuesday off as an Orange Bowl Holiday. Bwah ha ha ha.
