Getting the memo

by statia on November 10, 2004

There was a memo in our mailbox last night regarding to an incident that happened on Sunday. It appears that someone was lounging in one of the hot tubs on Sunday evening, when they were shot with “bb” gun type of weapon. We got the memo last night.

Nice. Way to be on top of the situation.

They haven’t found the weapon or the person(s) who commited the act. Thanks for letting us walk around for two days unknowing of the event. I know that no neighborhood is 100% safe. Generally, my town is a pretty quiet place. Clean. Perfectly manicured. I’m going to make an assumption that it was probably some kids playing around. Though, maybe I shouldn’t make any assumptions. Still, it’s not some crazy place, and when something like this happens, it’s bound to shake everyone in the neighborhood up. We take the dog out at night, there’s not much in the way of lighting. I’d like to think that I’m aware of my surroundings, but if it comes out of nowhere, it kind of makes it hard to duck and cover.

Seriously, what the fuck is wrong with people anymore? What sort of satisfaction comes from randomly shooting someone with a “bb” gun, or any type of gun for that matter?

yeah… good for them for being on top of the situation… three days after the fact. i don’t get the whole fascination with guns of any type. i flat out hate guns.

Remind me never to go hottubbing in your area. :)

If they find them (and it’ll probably be a kid or kids), they need to be flogged severely. I am a believer in things like caning as a form of punishment, but only because it has been proven, time and again, that it is so damned effective.

My roommates and I were victims of a drive-by paintball shooting a few weeks ago. Luckily the worst injury was a bruise, but we’re lucky none of us got hit in the face. What is wrong with these kids?
