Call me Stumpy

Most of the people that use those retractable leashes piss me off to no end. People that use these leashes have no consideration for actually retracting the leash when there’s another dog present, leaving their dog to wrap around my legs and chop them off at the knees. I can understand if you have a little dog and they’re easier to handle, maybe you want to give them a little more room, but seriously learn how to use the fuckin’ thing before you take the streets with your 75 pound dog that you can’t hold back.

We use one but only for walking Peri around our yard. We’ve got a regular leash for taking him out in public.

A-freakin-men! I can’t tell you how many times I’ve gotten leash-burns on my legs from people that don’t even try to contain their (sometimes) massively hyper big dogs around my small beagle. Grrr!

no way in hell I would use it with a larger dog. My 17lb dog can some times throw me with teh Flexi like a kite behind him. That is just rude.

my parents have one of those for their 70lb lab mix. i got rope burn sooo bad on the back of my knees once.

i think we originally got the retractable leash because the dog has a habit of taking off like a bat out of hell when he sees something he wants to chase, and we figured with a longer leash, he’s less likely to rip our arms off. wrong. after he partially dislocated my shoulder once with that damn that damned leash, i learned to just let go of the whole leash when he starts running. he’ll stop running when he feels the leash chasing after him. hehe.

I have to admit, I love my retracta-leash. I am at least considerate. I actually have the one with the wide strap like leash instead of the thin ropey one. This prevents rope burn for when Sophie catches me off guard, but for the most part I’m very considerate around other people. I can pull Soph in and keep her on a short reign. So you see, not all of us are bad…
