Making blogging fun again!

by statia on April 14, 2004

Part of the reason why I changed my domain was because of having some anonymity. Most of you know who I am. I had to change though due to some fucktards that I used to know a couple of years ago. When you first start blogging, you think it’s so much fun, and great, and you give the url out to some friends, and we all know that can get ugly. You change, and learn, and then you realize there are certain people you just don’t want to know. You take that risk when you have a public site, and you can’t stop someone from reading, so you end up censoring yourself.

Which is what made it not so much fun anymore. That and the politics of it. The drama gets old. I needed a new url. I wanted to do things differently. It’s not something no one’s ever gone through before. I bought the new url, and here we are.

Which leads me to the point of this post. I was really not into blogging for a long time. Now that I’m feeling a little more comfortable, I’m finding myself rediscovering old reads, finding some new ones, and commenting a lot more. I’m starting to enjoy it again. If you’ve been reading here for awhile, let me know. Say hi, drop me a comment. I’ll stop by and say hello to you too.

See? Despite having a Mega PMS case from hell™, I’m all about the love.

My name is Ralphie, and I sleep in a drawer.

ohshit, wrong blog.

keith April 14, 2004 at 1:10 pm

I still read you occasionally. Not every day, but at least once or twice a month. Come on by, say something foolish on my Zonk! board, and see if you can tolerate reading about my horribly mundane middle-aged married life with two puppy dogs.

Peek a boo.

I’ve commented here before. I think.

I’m a 17 year old Danish girl with six rats in my room. And don’t worry, I don’t wallow in melodramatic teenage angst (not a lot at least).

I don’t know you, Sporty, but you remind me of someone… I think her name began with an “S”… Whatever. You’re cooler than she was anyway.

BITE ME Solly!!!!!

mikey April 14, 2004 at 2:12 pm

i don’t mean to nit-pick, but the term “Mega PMS case from hell?”… isn’t that a bit redundant? i mean, nobody ever gets a Mega PMS case from Heaven, where their week is full of daisies, right?

*ducks*

Princess April 14, 2004 at 2:27 pm

Lisa April 14, 2004 at 4:39 pm

Just saying hi even though we talk all the time. Because I’m really all about the love too.

Stumblebee April 14, 2004 at 6:04 pm

Hi! I just started reading a few weeks ago. Your mini bio up there caught my eye because I too am an August baby, a Leo, and I have a black lab that looks just like the one in the picture.
Actually, it freaked me out just a little bit. :-)

tony April 14, 2004 at 6:04 pm

if you’ve already threatened me once today, does that mean I have to say hi?

*shrug*

hi.

Pamela April 14, 2004 at 6:50 pm

I like to read your blog. I liked the old one, and the new one is shaping up well. I like your candid-ness, your sense of humor, and the links- The old blog had a link to Frontier Airlines that was so funny…
I hope you will keep it up!

P.S. Will there be photos of “the haircut” ?

fran April 14, 2004 at 8:08 pm

Politics do suck. Are you the major of Philadelphia though?
:P

Empress April 14, 2004 at 9:07 pm

I’ll keep reading – just keep on posting!!

Um… see you soon? (How weird is that?)

munin April 14, 2004 at 9:28 pm

helloo!!! ;o)

wheezy joe April 14, 2004 at 9:54 pm

I found a nickname, finally. I hope you’re settling in with “sporty”, you were on the fence at first. Three cheers for anonymity!

jadedju April 15, 2004 at 1:50 am

Hi Sporty, freakishly geekishly JillyJu here. I think it was me you were trying to get away from, but I’m here to tell you that you can’t avoid me baby!

shaunacat April 15, 2004 at 10:06 am

I think I’ve commented before, but just wanted to let you know I’m reading you! I’m all about spreading the love…

Annastazia April 15, 2004 at 11:54 am

Hi! I don’t comment too often, but I’m here reading just about every day. Glad to see that you’re enjoying the new changes. :-)

huy April 15, 2004 at 12:37 pm

I read you nearly every day. I don’t comment very often, or if at all, actually. So, if you see a couple of random hits every day, that may or may not be me.

another ed April 15, 2004 at 12:41 pm

I haven’t run into the anonymity problem yet, but I started my blog b/c family kept complaining we didn’t call enough and fill them in.

I’m betting it’ll hit the fan at some point- I just hope I come up with something better than sporty. heh.

Steve April 16, 2004 at 8:31 am

I’m not sure how exactly I picked up your blog, but it was sometime last year. I was working REALLY late for work and had time to kill while something was going on. So I started browsing and, in the midst of it, stumbled across it. I enjoyed hearing your take on things. I probably check it 2-3 times a week now, although admittedly rarely comment. Thanks for the fun/interesting times, and I’ll try to do so more in the future.

stinkerbell April 17, 2004 at 6:22 pm

I have been reading for a while, took me a while to find you again, but I am a good stalker :)

And I am about to come out of the closet…. I am making the jump to put my blog live on its own URL with MT.

oh and yeah such a great title for the new blog.
