Let your soul and spirit fly

by statia on April 6, 2004

It’s been a busy day today. I guess it’s better than being not busy. You got two serious entries from me yesterday. That’s all you damn kids do, is take take take.

Despite yesterdays ponderings, I’m actually quite happy. Almost giddy even.

While, I settle in for the night, I leave you with my favorite heartwarmy feel good song. I’ve loved this song since I was 15, and it only gets better as time goes on.

Into the Mystic – Van Morrison
(right click and save as, yadda yadda, you know the drill by now)

We were born before the wind
Also younger than the sun
Ere the bonnie boat was won as we sailed into the mystic
Hark, now hear the sailors cry
Smell the sea and feel the sky
Let your soul and spirit fly into the mystic

And when that fog horn blows I will be coming home
And when the fog horn blows I want to hear it
I don’t have to fear it

And I want to rock your gypsy soul
Just like way back in the days of old
And magnificently we will flow into the mystic

When that fog horn blows you know I will be coming home
And when that fog horn whistle blows I got to hear it
I don’t have to fear it

And I want to rock your gypsy soul
Just like way back in the days of old
And together we will flow into the mystic
Come on girl…

Too late to stop now…

Such a great song, enhanced only by a few lit candles and favorite beverage. Have you heard Joe Cocker’s version?

And my version of “…take, take, take..” goes more like this, “… all I do is give, give, give” or this one, “… I do, and I do, and I do for you…”

Because it is, after all, all about me.
