What’s in a name

by statia on March 5, 2004

So people have been wondering what to call me these days. I miss not using my name. I love it, and it’s unique, but you know, you just come full circle when it comes to blogging and I feel the need to take away some things, in order to share more. I’ve had my share of nicknames growing up. I even have one now at work, but I’m not sharing that. A. because there are only two people that can get away with calling me that, and B. it’s just too much of a pain in the ass to spell the pronounciation.

I mentioned that I had been called sporty back among my old coworkers, because they thought I resemebled Sporty Spice when I had my hair pulled back. Hey, whatever floats their boat.

So, I need a nickname. I’ll go with sporty, unless you guys can come up with something better.

Skippy. It’s a wonderful nickname. Or something. Either that or The Notorious G.R.L.

I’m stoopid.

Ummm… Spike? Static? Spaz? Not very subtle, are they?

Dude, I was also called Sporty because of a Sporty Spice-Work connection. In high school, I worked at Sunglass Hut, and it was the most boring job ever. We’d sit on our ass the entire time. So my coworkers and I decided to draw our own comic book, wherein we each took on a Spice Girl persona, and we fought The Evil Porkchop ™ (who was a stalker customer) with the help of Yoda, our decrepit manager.

Yeah, and I was Sporty Spice because I rocked the Adidas and was the only one of us who could do a back handspring. The End. But I’ll give up the nickname to you.
