Take that to the bank

by statia on March 29, 2004

Saturday night while paying out bills and balancing my checkbook (yeah, I know interesting Saturday night eh? I know how to party), I noticed that my car payment was paid twice. I paid it right before I left to go to Boston. I belong to a credit union, which is where my car is also financed, which makes it much easier to just transfer my money from my checking account, to my car loan. When I went to transfer it, for some reason, the transfer wasn’t reflecting in my account. I figured it was a glitch and called up the credit union to have them just transfer the amount out of my checking account. Apparently, while it wasn’t being reflected, it had transferred anyway. I noticed a double payment. Most banks would kindly tell you “too fucking bad”, you still have to pay your monthly payment anyway. My credit union understood the issue, and basically let me forgo my car payment this month.

I seriously wrote them an email of praise for their kick ass customer service.

A few years ago, I had a similar expierence with my credit union. I usually don’t use my credit union’s…
