Here comes Santa Claus

I love giving gifts. I love buying stuff for people, when I have the money that is. Random surprises, Christmas, birthdays, whatever. The last couple of years were tough on me monetarily, so that was restricted for awhile. Now that I’m seeing the light at the end of the tunnel, hopefully I can do that again.

Anyway, before Christmas, I approached my friend E, regarding a Christmas idea for our friend C. Last year sometime, he had pulled out mechanical type drawings that his grandfather had drawn. He had found them when his parents were cleaning out their house in preparation for selling it. He told me that he would love to get them framed someday, partially because they are actually really cool looking, and mostly because they were a tie to his family history, and he had never met his grandfather. I figured it’d be a good idea to have it framed and asked her to go half. E thought it’d be an awesome idea, and managed to swipe one of the drawings while he was in the shower one night, and totally took the ball and ran with it. She got it framed and everything.

It wasn’t ready in time for Christmas, and with all of our schedules conflicting constantly, we finally got together last night to give it to him. To say that he loved it, is probably an understatement. I’m not sure if it was the gesture or the picture itself, but he was speechless.

As I drove home last night, I couldn’t stop beaming. That, right there, is the reason why I love giving gifts.

Speaking of, I need your new home addy please. I have some little desk things I want to send you. I have your old addy before you moved. :)

That’s the best feeling in the world.

I’m right there with ya. I love giving gifts. Especially meaningful ones.
