But I wipe my own ass, I wipe my own ass!

Funny how I was reading up on firsts today. I had a first today. A big milestone of a first. I made my own plane reservations. I know you’re thinking “surely she’s on crack, what the hell is the big deal in that?” Well, for someone that is so deathly afraid of flying, this is big. For years, even being in an airport was hard for me. If I was left on my own to make flight reservations, I would have never left the ground. When I flew for the first time in 12 years, back in September of 2000, my mother made my flight reservations (yeah, that’s right, my mommy did it for me. You want to make something of it? Punk?) for the entire group of us. When I went to visit Robyn and Todd the first time, I had someone else make my flight reservations. When I went to visit them the second time, Robyn was the one that made the flight reservations. My last two times flying were for business, so you basically have your travel profile with corporate travel, and they just do the work for you. That leaves me to just stress about getting on the plane, and being in the air. Trust me, when you’re me, that’s enough stress. So you see, today, is a big first for me.

Look ma, I’m all growed up.
