Pretty in Pink

by statia on February 21, 2004

I went out to lunch this afternoon with two girls that I graduated with from high school. One that I had seen at my reunion, and the other that I haven’t seen since, I guess 1998. We used to hang out a lot together senior year and for a couple of years after high school, and then just sort of lost touch. It was so much fun to hang out with both of them, and I’m sure we’ll keep in touch now. Catching up always makes you feel old. The last time I saw my friend, she had just had a baby. Her daughter is now six and sounds like a pisser and is absolutely adorable. We went to the mall, and laughed about how all of the stuff we played with as kids, is now back in style. I bought yet more pink clothing today. Me and J spent the entire day trying to get our other friend, A into pink. Being a recent convert, I will bring her over to the other side. Oh yes, I will. You’d think having a little girl that covets pink, she’d be a little less reluctant.

I would love to do that after I graduate. Meet with my friends and talk about “the old times”. My mom has missed all her class reunions, but I wouldnt. Id be too excited that Id be the one setting it up.

I’m surrounded with pink and I love it… Maybe because pink isn’t Pepto Bismol pink? The pinks this spring seem… less harsh than the pinks of old. (Even the Mary Kay pink caddy is a soft, pearlescent pink now…)

Catching up with friends like that is great…dare I say…a “Sex and the City/Friends” moment? LOL. Sounds like you all had a blast, and I had to giggle over “the pink” moment while shopping. I feel like going out right now in your honor and buying myself a shocking pink and black shirt. Fabulous! ;D lol
