I need to wake up, put on my makeup

by statia on January 2, 2004

Vacation is winding down. The holidays are finally over. New Years Eve was a lot of fun. g-man went to the kennel, and it was nice to not have the stress of worrying to get home. I didn’t have to drive home that night. I ate way too much. While the party was a lot of fun, New Years itself seemed like sort of bland. Like it didn’t really phase me that it was a new year. It just sort of…. was. Hopefully, the ambivalence I felt about it all this year, won’t affect the coming year. The good thing is that I remained busy this year. I got a lot accomplished, and still felt like I spent a little bit of time just relaxing. I was hoping things would sort of calm down a bit, but I’ll be leaving for Florida in two weeks for a business trip.

g-man is home, and of course, pissed off about being kenneled for two days. Heh, wait till he finds out he’ll be going to my ex’s for the week.

I’ve discovered two things: I have a strange addiction to butter and sugar mixed together. It’s better than the actual cookie dough when you mix it all together.

I want a green tree frog.

I want to make a cd of good drinking songs. Any suggestions you might have would be appreciated. Preferably not country. I won’t listen to country.

Hey~
CMT web site has the list of top 40 country drinking songs. They did a whole special on it and guess who hosted it? Wynona Judd. How Ironic.lol

I’ve always had a thing for AC/DC when drinking. “Money Talks,” and “Shook Me All Night Long.”

Robert Earl Keen may be a little too country, but Hand Me Down My Walkin’ Cane is another fine one, especially when you’ve had a few.

Funny you should mention that, I have a mix cd of “drinking music”. Some of the highlights:
“Why Dont We Get Drunk And Screw” Jimmy Buffett
“Alcohol” Barenaked Ladies
“Friday Night” G. Love and Special Sauce
“Let’s Get Flat” Jimmie’s Chicken Shack
“It’s Saturday” Ludacris
etcetera, etcetera…

George Thorogood – One Whiskey, One Shot, One Beer, Move it On Over, and I Drink Alone..any George Thorogood, actually, is good drinking music. Then there’s Def Leppard Pour Some Sugar On Me.

Thorogood’s “One Bourban, One Scotch, One Beer”
AC/DC’s “You Shook Me All Night Long”
UB40′s “Red Red Wine”

Unfortunately for you, some of the best drinking songs are country songs. Old skool country, though — nothing later than the mid-70s or so.

Anything by the Rolling Stones.. though ‘Honky-Tonk Woman’ is probably best when drunk.

The Last Referrer List (Sans Tom Cruise)

Well, that was fun. I love numbers and stats and lists and being silly. The monthly Referrer Madness gave me…
