In a few days, the brand new cruise ship, The Queen Mary 2 will set sail on its maiden voyage to Fort Lauderdale. It’ll take over the transatlantic voyages of the Queen Elizabeth 2, which I believe will still be in operation, just not making anymore overseas journeys.

There’s one thing I’ve always wanted to do, and that’s cross the Atlantic on the QE2. It’s one of those things that a for so many people remain a dream due to the expense. I do know of one lucky girl that got to sail on her, and when I found out, boy was I jealous. The QM2 doesn’t seem like it’s going to be any less expensive either. It’s currently the largest ship in the world. About the length of 2 space needles, and will pack a price of anywhere from $4400 dollars to $48,000 dollars per person for a 14 day trip.

Needless to say, I don’t think that I’ll be heading out on the QM2 anytime soon either.

I saw footage of that ship on tv the other night. I have to say that it is nice..glorious even.
However the first words I said after seeing it was…
“That has Titanic written all over it”
sorry..

I really, really, really wanted to take a trip on it…until I saw it was owned by Carnival. Not gonna do it.

Jeez, if I’d known and if it’d been listed at Amazon I might have selected the QM2 trip instead of Beautiful Girls. ;-)

You mean you aren’t taking all of us? Disappointed!

Statia, did you REALLY write that? I can think of a million reasons why you wouldn’t want to be on a cruise ship…

I’ll take you. When’s the next departure?

Anyone else think the ship diagram on the website was made with The Sims?

In the 70′s, my moms friend worked as a waitress on the QE2, met a nice British man on the ship and married him.
Does it matter that they’ve since divorced?
