Oh damn, I missed “National Sac Day”

by statia on December 20, 2003

We made Christmas our bitch today. Oh yes, we so did. We laughed in the face of all of those shoppers, and were even brave enough to do the mall today.

While trapsing through the mall, we both noticed a new store, that had just opened. A store that I remembered reading about over at Mikey’s a while back. That would be the Love Sac store. I remembered that he had said they were expensive, but hot damn. I so want one of these. They’re so fucking comfortable. It’s better than any easy chair.

How hard could it be to make one of these?

The campus library of the college I attended had these huge beanbag-like chairs that were very similar to the Love Sac. I learned very quickly that I could not study in them — I would fall asleep EVERY TIME. They were, simply, the most comfortable things ever made. Ever. Then, one day, they were gone. I always suspected they were removed because too many students fell prey to their siren song.

For many years I have wondered who made those chairs and where I could get one. Now, I think I know. Thanks!

honestly, they couldn’t be that hard to make… i mean, they’re just sacs full of foam n stuff, right?

Apparently there’s a store about 10 minutes from where Todd works. However, if I sat down in one, I think it would take a construction crane to lift me out again at this point…that might be a tad bit embarrassing.

I was quite surprised to learn that their corporate office is in Utah…. I live there. :) You’d think it would come from somewhere more hip… like Chicago or New York. I think the reason they are so expensive is because they are filled with a DuraFoam… which I think is the same stuff that those luxuory pillows are made of that people sleep on. Plus, I can’t imagine the fabric they use being all that cheap.
