Fall in love all over again

by statia on November 4, 2003

Last February, I headed out to sunny cloudy, windy, rainy Arizona for a business trip. After I got back, I went through a phase of just wanting to get the hell out of here. I fell in love with Arizona, despite the off weather they were having.

After a few weeks, I knew what was really happening was that I was more than likely sick of the freezing cold weather, snow and being trapped in the house. Granted, a change would have done be good, and if the opportunity to move arose, I’d probably think about it, depending on the location, but I know that it was irrational thought of running from something that was urging me to just up and leave. I don’t generally do things without thoroughly thinking them through.

The other night, I had a dream. I dreamt that I was being given another position in my company, that was forcing me to move somewhere out west, though where I wasn’t clear. All I remember was not being prepared, or ready for this move. I didn’t know how to get to work. I didn’t have a place to live, and I kept getting lost. Maybe this is something that I’m not ready for, at this point in my life anyway.

After driving around this weekend, getting things done, and spending time outside, I remembered one of the many reasons why I love it here so much:

Maybe I have it backwards, but the fall always seems have a renewing effect on me.

You’d better not move again so soon!

I love fall on the east coast. Such gorgeous colors.

I’m the exact same way. Fall renews me and gives me a mountain of fresh energy. I just don’t think I could live somewhere where the leaves never changed.

You’re definitely not alone when it comes to the rejuvenating effects of Fall. I’ve lived on the East Coast my whole life, but have thought that moving to Las Vegas would be great – except I couldn’t stand the lack of a real Fall. You Pennsylvanians are lucky to still have the leaves.

Man, that’s purdy. We don’t get that in Cali. :-(

What a gorgeous photo. I’d love to one day go East during the fall and see all the lovely foliage.
