Most kids are picky. Generally kids don’t like spicy or sour foods. I’m sure that a lot of this has to do with taste buds being stronger when you’re younger. I was no different as a child. I hated lots of stuff. I can remember my mother making me eat pickled beets and me gagging. Among some of the things I hated were peppers and onions.

Somewhere along the line, that changed. First it was wine, now it’s peppers and onions. Where the hell did I go wrong? I’m blaming this all on C. It’s all your fault.

Ok, so maybe it’s not so bad. Maybe I’ll give beets a try next. Or not.

I hated mushrooms when I was younger, but now I love them. I’m still not a big fan of onions though, unless they’re in the form of onion rings. Anything tastes good when it’s fried.

My mom used to love beets when I was a kid and I wouldn’t touch them. Thought they were the grossest thing. I gotta say. I love beets now. Especially roasted.

I actually eat liver now. And fish – I hated fish as a kid but now I would eat it every day.

I still refuse to eat Brussel Sprouts.

I frew up on pickled beets. I think it’s a ukrainian/polish/russian thang.

I’ve heard that your taste buds change every 8 years. I used to love swiss cheese when a small child, then hated for a period, now love again…
