Hot, Steamy, and Sweaty

by statia on September 19, 2003

It’s not what you think.

We lost power. We lost power for a long time. At around 7:30 the lights flickered. Just as I was pulling my dinner out of the oven. Then, the lights went out. They flickered on for a brief few minutes. Then they went out entirely, for the remainder of the night, and didn’t return on until almost 5am.

Fuckin’ Isabel. You mock me.

There’s not much to do but sleep when that happens. So at 9, I was in bed, with no a/c, sweating my ass off. I tried keeping the windows open, but it was too windy.

But my patio furniture is still there.

I still can’t believe we didn’t lose power. Maybe I should go buy a lottery ticket :)

Your patio furniture fared better than those Weather Channel ijits I saw on Leno last night. ;)
