Everyone’s a comedian

by statia on September 7, 2003

I’m up to my eyeballs in god damn rubbermaid containers. I took almost everything off the walls, and packed up all of my chatchskis. Thankfully, I’m one of those anal retentive people that doesn’t like too much clutter, so I don’t have many of them. Well, actually I have a lot of them, but I rotate them out, so that I don’t look like someone’s weird Aunt Blanche with ceramic kittens and doilies decorating every bit of free shelf and end table space of her musty old house.

It’s been another gorgeous weekend. Fall is definitely in the air, and as much as I don’t want it to be fall yet, I can’t fight that feeling of loving the smell and feel of it so much. It was actually chilly out last night. Everyone is out, and walking around, loving the weather. Maybe g-man and I will go for a nice jog walk in the park later.

Last night my friend Diana, her boyfriend and I, went to a comedy club closer to my parents house. It’s a tiny little venue, but everytime I go, I laugh my ass off. I’m convinced that seeing comedians live, are much funnier than on tv, censored or not. Last night was the first time I actually ended up sitting right in front of the stage. You know that no good can ever become of being at the front of the club. Diana’s boyfriend, is pretty tall, and has this wild curly hair and is into the whole thrift store style of fashion. It really actually suits him, and not many can pull it off, but it makes him an easy target. Me being my wiseass self, can’t resist when they start heckling us. The funniest of them all, was Joe Bublewicz. Go see him if you have a chance.

mmmm, Fall. September & October are the two best months out of the year, easy. That wood burning stove smell always reminds me of Fall. Awesome time to do any sort of driving through the Appalachian Mountains, to catch the scenery as the leaves change. Reminds me that it’s time for my annual pilgrimage to Falling Water.

“tchotchke” is how it is spelled – and that’s straight from memory!

Fall? FALL!? damn, that would explain the non-stop wezzing and sneezing.
Site looks good. I think I will be stopping in again to see what you got here. Take care!

Hehe… Sledge beat me to it. Hey, I’m marrying a Jewish man, I have to know how to spell (and speak) mainstream Yiddish.
I love Fall… and fall foliage… and homemade apple pie… and I can’t wait to see New England in all its glory in just one more month!
