The Big Thaw

by statia on March 12, 2003

I wonder if the urge to spring clean is instinctual in humans. Like regrowth of brand new buds, wiping the slate clean and starting over. I just cleaned out my whole office. Got rid of a whole bunch of stuff that we weren’t able to use anymore, and also a whole bunch of stuff that I didn’t need anymore. No more collection of water bottle caps stuck under my keyboard. It’s all fresh and clean.

I need to do that…. I have 2 closets that need it badly. Paricularly the one where all my shoes and crap are…its to full and cluttered that I cant close the door.

I live in Pittsburgh, a tad over 4 hours away, and I will leave a spare key in the mailbox, when are you coming over…that is if you are in teh spring cleaning mood and all…

Hmmm, if I don’t normally do any cleaning, would anything I do now be called spring cleaning? I mean, it’s spring, or very nearly.

i think the urge to clean in early spring (i have it too) comes from the knowledge that when you can finally open all the doors and windows to the sun, all that dust and clutter is going to look really gross.

but i’ve never done it at work…

Nope, not instinctual. But we’re still not sure I’m human, so I can’t really say.
