Two fucking letters. Y-O-U. Not u. You’re, not ur. If you’ve got a fucking education, show it off proudly. Spell it out.

Thank you.

Haha, I despise some of the abbreviations that the electronic medium has made acceptable … another one I don’t particularly like is “l8r” or worse “l8s” (as in lates … whatever THAT means). Ugh, could we just BAN all stupidity in abbreviations? :) LOL is fine because it’s MUCH longer typed out, but how hard is it to type “later”?!? Obviously, you’ve touched on a tricky subject for me ;) Maybe I’ll have to post about this one later… :D

If it’s possible, I adore you even more, just for this post. AMEN Sistah! Preach on!

And U R 2 Kewl.

OH!!! I just *hate* it when people can’t be bothered to use the Y-O part in YOU. And “ur”? That’s enough to drive me insane. Even worse is when someone sends you an e-mail and they use those abbreviations. Oh my. I just hate that.

Sure, I’ve made up some of my own – BDIB for example, the universal girl’s way of saying “Bunny Does it Better”. But that’s not the same as a lot of stupid “u” and “ur” all over the place!

I would have to add that to my ever growing list of peeves too. My little sister types that way to be cool with her friends…drives me nuts.

I can see kids doing that. But if you’re sending me this as an adult, whooooooo boy, be prepared to get reamed.

Sean October 16, 2002 at 10:48 am

God damn “doh!” button. Crap! Here we go again….

No, really, tell us how you really feel on the subject. ;-)

Not nearly as funny now that I had to retype it.

A lot of abbreviations irk the living hell out of me. “ur” would be one of them as well as “omg”.

Argh, Trish… I *hate* that type! *grrrrrrrr* My mind always tries to make sense of the caps instead of the whole words. Infuriating!

Noggie November 13, 2002 at 6:12 pm

Someone asked me “asl?”. I said I didn’t do American Sign Language. Besides, it wouldn’t work on the computer anyway ;)
