Dog Park

by statia on July 22, 2002

There are people that actually talk like this, and in the Philadelphia burbs no less?

So I took g-man to the dog park today. It was unusually quiet for a Monday night and there was only one other dog there (a boxer, owned by two guys), when we got there, and another that came about five minutes after me (a white shepard).

On the horizon, a family appeared. With a lab mix of some sort. There were like 30 kids or something. Ok, four kids, but they were loud and obnoxious enough to seem like more. g-man likes kids, but loud kids and too many makes him a little uneasy. Especially ones that chase him and try to grab his back end (hip surgery). He really hates that. The guys with the boxers left immediately, which was all to obvious to me why.

I was there for all of about fifteen minutes when I just had about all I could handle. Poor g-man was not happy either. I went to go and put his leash on when one of the kids asked why we were leaving to which the father replied verbatim:

She’s leavin’ cause she’s gotta go home and watch wrasslin!” And he was not even joking when he said this.

We do not need people like this procreating.

OMG! People like that annoy me so bad. I am soooo glad to know it happens in the north too. But, I’m sure he was from the South – and he’s probably one of those people who wonders why the rest of the country think we are stupid!

What’s wrong with wrasslin’?

Oh no Camille, he was so not from the south, that’s the sad part. I’m scared. so very scared.

That’s too funny. He’s a poster child for condoms!

So were his children.

He wasn’t from the south….I’ll betcha he was from Baltimore (that’s “Balmer” if you’re a local.) Rasslin and “the races” are big here (the “races” being car races…horse racing is referred to as “the ponies”.)

Ah yes, being literate and living in Baltimore. It’s a kick in the ass sometimes.

I’m scared for you Carol. LOL. However, you can have him back.
